We had a lot of fun last night with friends and as part of our Venezuelan tradition, we took out luggage that is to secure travel for vacations, ate lentils for prosperity and 12 grapes for 12 wishes....hey, we also had shampagne!




La pasamos súper anoche con unos amigos, y como parte de nuestra tradición venezolana (en verdad no sé, de donde se origina, pero nos ayuda) sacamos las maletas, comimos lentejas, las doce uvas y bebimos champaña.

El sol del 2008 nos acompañó hasta más no poder, molesto porque ya tenía que dar relevo al sol del 2009, brilló y brilló favoreciendo el clima para despedir al 2008. Desde muy temprano disfrutamos la estadía esperando al año nuevo, los que deseaban bronceado aprovecharon el sol que lucía esplendido en un cielo de maravilla!!!

We had a lot of fun last night and a great dinner, the view of the sky with firework from all around was amazing, the New Year's Eve fireworks show (Maremares Hotel, Caribbean Mall and people of las Villas area) erupts turning Lecheria's sky into a multitude of colors.

Today my family came over, a fun day was had by all and I was so thankful to get to spend the day with them and tomorrow... we are getting up super early to go on a beach day.

We will be spending the New Year’s holiday in Sydney, Australia at the end of this year, staying in the Rocks area, but do not wish to go to a formal restaurant to enjoy the wonderful fireworks show in the Harbor. Where can we see them outdoors, close to the water either in a restaurant or on a dock that will not be too costly? Thanks for your help.

You will probably want to avoid the restaurants along the harbor in Sydney altogether. Ariel Foxman, who wrote “36 Hours in Sydney” (Nov. 12, 2006), told me in an email that those places are expensive “and I would suspect they will be even pricier come New Year’s Eve.”
